KUWAIT, May 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti sides Al-Arabi and Kuwait SC both edged home victories in football's AFC Cup on Saturday as they climbed to the top of their respective groups undefeated across two matches.

Senegalese forward Ablaye Mbengue struck in the 34th minute to earn Al-Arabi their second victory on-the-trot over Shabab Al-Khalil of Palestine, 1-0. The result comes on the back of a 3-2 win away to Bahraini side, Al-Riffa.
Elsewhere, goals from former Tunisia international forward, Taha Yassine Khenissi, and Kuwaiti international defender Fahad Al-Rashidi handed Kuwait SC a valuable three points over their closest second-placed group rivals Oman's Al-Seeb.
All-time winners of the Asian second tier club competition with three titles, Kuwait SC, top Group A with four points, after an earlier draw, with Al-Seeb trailing with three points.
Al-Arabi, for the time being, comfortably top Group B with a three point margin over Al-Riffa. (end) fr.sd
