RAMALLAH, May 5 (KUNA) -- Israeli occupation forces entered Al-Aqsa mosque on Thursday and attacked worshippers using tear gas canisters.
The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said in a statement that the occupation forces prevented dozens of Palestinians from entering, and allowed Israeli settlers to storm the Mosque after preventing them during the last ten days of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.
The occupation forces fired tear gas canisters and stun grenade at Palestinian worshipers in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, beating some of them and trying to arrest others, according to eyewitnesses.
Jerusalem Governorate added that the glass surrounding Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi Minbar, inside the prayer hall, was damaged as a result of the Israeli attack. (end) nq.ahm
