KUWAIT, April 5 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim said that the National Assembly will not hold a session tomorrow, Wednesday, after His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah submitted the government's letter of resignation.
Al-Ghanim said in a press statement at the National Assembly Tuesday that he was informed a while ago that His Highness the Prime Minister and the government submitted their resignations to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Pursuant to the Amiri order, with the help of His Highness the Crown Prince, some of the constitutional powers of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will be exercised, he added.
The resignation is under the consideration of the political leadership, as everyone is confident that they will take the appropriate decision in the interest of the country, also accordingly, he noted.
His Highness the Crown Prince received at Bayan Palace earlier today, His Highness the Prime Minister, who submitted to His Highness the government's letter of resignation.
Al-Ghanim announced in the last regular session of the National Assembly, which was held on March 29, that 10 MPs submitted a request not to cooperate with His Highness the Prime Minister, after the end of the discussion of the interpellation directed to His Highness by MPs Muhannad Al-Sayer, Khaled Al-Otaibi and Dr. Hassan Jawhar.
