KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) -- Emergency plans at general hospitals are activated after 14 cases reported so far from the huge fire at Al-Mubarakiya popular market on Thursday, said the Ministry of Health.
The fire gutted scores of adjacent stores, Kuwait Fire Force declared earlier, as four out of the 14 cases were transferred to Amiri hospital; one to Al-Babtain Center for Burns and Plastic Surgery, while nine cases were treated on-site and are all stable, according to ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad. Injuries varied between minor burns and mild suffocations.
The Kuwaiti Fire Force said in an initial report that five brigades rushed to the scene to put out the flames. (pickup previous) mrv.hb
