KUWAIT, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- A UAE F-16 jet fighter raided a ballistic missile launcher in the Yemeni region of Al-Jof destroying the launcher, the joint operations command of the UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Monday.
The ministry, in a statement broadcast by the UAE news agency, WAM, said the rocket launcher was hit and destroyed by the striking fighter jet at 4:10 a.m. (01:10 GMT) instantly after a pair of missiles were fired in the direction of Abu Dhabi.
The two unleashed missiles were knocked out before reaching the target, the ministry statement affirmed.
The UAE Ministry of Defense posted online a video clip showing the strike on the missile launcher.
Earlier today, the ministry reported intercepting and destroying the two missiles, fired by the Houthi militias against the Arab Gulf State, the second attack by the terrorist group in a week.
No human casualties were reported by the attack and parts of the ballistic missiles fell in different areas around Abu Dhabi, the ministry said in a statement, cited by the official WAM news agency.
It reaffirmed readiness to deal with any threats and would take all measures to protect the country's territories.
