KUWAIT, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- The National Assembly will be holding a special session tomorrow, Tuesday, based on parliamentary request to look into a law proposing the increase of Kuwait Credit Bank (KCB) capital.
The request also includes discussing residential and real estate parliamentary committee's report on amending first paragraph of article (6) of law (30) for the year 1965 regarding the establishment of the bank.
In that regard, the second paragraph of article (72) of the assembly's statute states "the speaker could call on assembly to convene prior to regular timing if seen as necessary, and he must call on it if requested by government or at least 10 members of parliament .. topic of discussion is underscored in invitation" The residential and real estate committee discussed in a meeting yesterday law of increasing KCB capital with the attendance of Finance Minister and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs Abdulwahab Al-Rushaid, as well as officials from Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and KCB.
In previous sessions of the parliament, MPs have unanimously agreed that finding a serious comprehensive solution for the residential issue is a matter of great necessity, as is enabling KCB to finance real estate loans.
Several MPs have stated that the residential issue is at the forefront of parliamentary priorities and the government is requested to put in place a timetable for residential distributions and building permits, as well as the elimination of hurdles within new residential areas. (end) ns.aa.aai
