RIYADH, Nov 28 (KUNA) -- Saudi's Interior Ministry announced suspending flights coming from and going to Malawi, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, Mauritius and the Comoro Islands, due to the spread of the coronavirus.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry noted that only Saudi citizens are allowed to enter the kingdom from these countries, as well as those who had went into a 14-day quarantine in other countries.
Any persons who arrive from these countries, including Saudis, must go into a five-day quarantine, regardless of their vaccination state, it added.
The ban comes after reports on the spread of a new coronavirus variant "omicron" in these countries.
Last Friday, Saudi also announced suspending flights to and from seven African countries, including South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Eswatini. (end) mdm.ag
