MADRID, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, leading Kuwait's delegation to 143rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), took part in a coordination meeting of the Arab geopolitical group on Thursday.
The meeting, held on the eve of the IPU Assembly and chaired by Speaker of Bahrain's Council of Representatives Fawzia bent Abdulla Yusuf Zainal, focused on Arab lobbying the international parliamentarians to support for the Palestinian people who suffer from a deteriorating humanitarian situation.
The meeting has unanimously elected the Kuwaiti MP Dr. Hamad Al-Matar as member of the IPU Committee on Sustainable Development, which is made up of 18 members from around the globe.
The Arab parliamentarians reviewed the issues on the agenda of the 143rd Assembly and ways to coordinate their stances on these issues.
Besides Al-Ghanim and Al-Matar, the Kuwaiti side in the meeting also included MPs Salman Al-Azemi and Osama Al-Menawer as well as Kuwait Ambassador to Spain Eyada Al-Saeidi.
