1949 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the 45-bed Amiri Hospital. It was staffed by 13 doctors and two nurses.
1958 -- The 13th conference of liaison officers of Israel boycott's regional bureaus was held in Kuwait.
2005 -- The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) opened an office in Shanghai, China. It was the first Arab bank to establish a branch in the Asian nation.
2008 -- The Kuwaiti ophthalmologist Dr. Khaled Al-Sabti registered a patent, published by the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
2010 -- Arab finance ministers adopted, during a meeting in Kuwait, executive laws for managing private accounts in response to a proposal by Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for supporting small and medium enterprises in Arab countries at a capital of USD 1.2 billion.
2010 -- Kuwait Television won three awards, including a gold one, for the religious program "Nojoum Al-Kenanah." 2010 -- Kuwaiti Wushu champions won eight medals, including one gold, in the world Kung Fu and tai chi, held in Turkey. 2014 -- Qadsiya won the 11th Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Cup, beating Iraq's Irbil by penalty shot out 4-2.
