RIYADH, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia on Sunday warned its citizens not to travel to Lebanon in light of the current security situation there.
"This is due to the current security developments taking place in Lebanon and based on the ministry of interior's decision to prevent the direct and indirect travel of citizens to a number of countries without obtaining prior permission from relevant authorities," read a foreign ministry statement carried by SPA.
The ministry went on to urge Saudi nationals in Lebanon to remain vigilant and steer clear of crowds due to the danger this may present to their security and safety.
The announcement comes after a widespread army deployment in the streets of Beirut on Thursday quelled violent armed clashes, which saw six people killed and 35 others wounded. (end) mdm.sd
