ALGIERS, Aug 11 (KUNA) - The raging wildfires in Algeria have claimed the lives of 77 people, including 28 army personnel, so far, announced local authorities on Wednesday.
In a press statement, Attorney General of the Court of Tizi Ouzou, Abdelkader Amrouche said the number of victims of the fires that broke out on Monday in the province of Tizi Ouzou jumped to 77 dead, including 28 military men.
He described the blaze a crime that was deliberately committed following a statement by the president about planned measures to safeguard the forest resources.
Amrouche argued that the fire was erupted in several parts of the forest at the same time, which indicated that it was a deliberate and coordinated action. (pick up previous) mr.ibi
