TOKYO, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- Egypt's karate player Feryal Abdelaziz won the gold medal in the women's kumite over-61kg category at the Tokyo Olympics, defeating Azerbaijan's Iryna Zaretska 2-0 in the final Saturday.
In the karate events at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan, Saudi Arabia's Tareq Hamedi won the silver medal in the men's kumite over-75kg category. He was defeated by Iran's Sajad Ganjzadeh in the final by a 4-0 score.
Meanwhile, Qatar's Ahmed Tijan and Cherif Younousse won the bronze medal in men's beach volleyball after beating Latvia 21-12, 21-18 in the third-place match at the Shiokaze Park. (end) mk.hb
