KUWAIT, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Minister of Education Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf and the education community have mourned demise of the renowned and wholly dedicated educator Latifa Mohammad Al-Barrak who passed away on Wednesday.
Dr. Al-Mudhaf, in a statement on Thursday, expressed deep condolences and consolations to Al-Barrak's family, underscoring her noticeable role in developing the educational sector.
She was among the first Kuwaiti women who taught and a prominent personality that had done supervisory tasks, he said, noting that she was the first female citizen to work as school principal.
The pious educator had dedicated 34 years of her lifetime for serving the homeland, namely the teaching sector, Al-Mudhaf said, recalling that she was wholeheartedly devoted to teaching to the extent that after she retired, she lamented her days in the service and wished to resume work.
Al-Nuzha Elementary School has been named after the lost educator in appreciation for her hard work. (end) mrf.rk
