1990 -- The Arab League denounced, during an extraordinary session in Cairo, the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. It called on Iraq to withdraw from the country immediately and unconditionally.
1990 -- The Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council held in Cairo an emergency session, during which it condemned the brutal Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and called on Iraq to withdraw its troops unconditionally from Kuwaiti territories. It also called on the Arab League's member states to stand united, adhering to the principles and spirit of the Arab League Charter to end the aggression and restore Kuwait's territorial integrity.
1990 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a decree-into-law banning trade in Kuwait's crude oil and byproducts except through relevant authorities of the legitimate Kuwaiti Government.
1992 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a decree concerning the organization of employment offices for private servants.
1998 -- Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Jassem Al-Oun appointed Dr. Nouriah Al-Kharafi and Kawthar Al-Joaan as members of the board of directors of Al-Ardhiya Cooperative Society, in the first such step of naming Kuwaiti women in ranking positions in this sector.
2010 -- Dr. Ayed Al-Humaidan gained an international recognition in the field of reducing drugs and its damages.
2010 -- The Kuwaiti sailing team won an international competition, hosted by Morocco. The Kuwaiti champion, Saud Al-Masoud, won in the laser category. His fellow citizen, Ahmad Al-Failakawi, was first in the laser radial competition.
2015 -- The Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) opened Al-Sabbiya power station project to meet the increasing needs of energy as a result of urban expansion and keeping up with the local development plan.
2016 -- Kuwait's ministry for public worked handed over a project concerning expatriate housing complex in Al-Shadadiya to the ministry of finance at a cost of KD 28 million.
2016 -- Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain established a new chair for Master program of contemporary Arabic Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, to be the sole chair in Europe, which adopts Arabic as the only language in the teaching of Master of Arabic Studies.
2017 -- Suad Al-Humaydhi, one of the first Kuwaiti women who has been involved in trade and investment inside and outside Kuwait, passed away at age 78.
2018 -- Kuwait gave USD 50 million to the World's Food Program (WFP) to the Yemeni people. (end) gta
