BRUSSELS, July 25 (KUNA) -- Severe weather in Belgium Saturday evening caused further damage along the banks of the Meuse river in Dinant, reaching to the provincial capital Namur in southern Belgium an area already affected by the recent flooding.
There were no reports of casualties, four people had to be evacuated from their homes and found shelter elsewhere. Streets were flooded, cars carried away, and many houses suffered light to severe flooding in Dinant in southern Belgium local media reported.
The mayor of Namur rated the situation 'worse than last week'. Several neighborhoods are flooded, hospitals and care homes suffered water damage too, VRT news network reported today.
At the same time, locations in Antwerp and Walloon Brabant provinces in northern Belgium were also affected.
Meanwhile, the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium has issued a code yellow alert for the whole country on Sunday. Later in the afternoon, the weather will become unstable, with heavy showers and thunderstorms.
