CAIRO, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi announced extending the state of emergency across the country for three months, starting 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.
According to MENA state news agency, the Egyptian armed forces and police will take all measures to face terrorism and tackle its financing sources and protect the lives of civilians.
Egypt had imposed a state of emergency in 2017, after the bombings of two churches that killed at least 45 people. Since then, the country has been renewing the emergency state.
Egyptian security forces have also been the target for multiple terrorist attacks in North Sinai. (end) aff.ag
