BRUSSELS, Oct 16 (KUNA) -- In January to August of this year, European Union exports of goods to the rest of the world fell to EUR 1.22 trillion (USD 1.43 trillion) a decrease of 12.4 percent compared with 2019.
Imports from inside the EU and the rest of the world also fell to EUR 1.11 trillion (USD 1.30 trillion) a decrease of 13.4 percent compared with the same period last year, according to figures released by Eurostat, the EU's statistical office on Friday.
COVID-19 continues to have a significant impact on international trade in goods, it noted.
In January to August, euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world fell to EUR 1.35 trillion euro (USD 1.58 trillion) a decrease of 12.4 percent, and imports fell to EUR 1.22 trillion (USD 1.43 trillion) a decrease of 13.1 percent compared with the same period last year. (end) nk.sd
