ISTANBUL, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Leaders of the mainstream Palestinian groups, Fatah and Hamas, on Thursday concluded conciliation talks with what was declared as "unified vision," according to a joint statement released after the gathering.
The statement said the discussions, held at the Palestinian general consulate, focused on issues that were examined at rounds of talks at this level that had been held in Ramallah and Beirut.
It said the "common vision" reached between the two sides would be the topic of broader national dialogue, under sponsorship of President Mahmoud Abbas, set no later than October 1.
The leaders pledged to act jointly for defending rights and interests of the Palestinian people and stand jointly in face of conspiracies until establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Fatah and Hamas officials started the talks on Tuesday, addressing differences between the two sides. (end) ta.rk
