RAMALLAH, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian prisoner in the Israeli Ofer detention camp died due to a heart attack, said the Palestinian Prisoners Club, on Wednesday.
In a press release, the club said that the captive Dawood Al-Khatib, 45 years, from Bethlehem, died this evening due to a heart attack.
The statement noted that the prisoner was serving a sentence of 18 years, adding that over the years of his detention, he faced difficult health conditions after he suffered a stroke several years ago and underwent an open-heart operation.
The Club held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for his death, pointing out that 225 prisoners died in the Israeli prisons since 1967. (end) nq.aa
