RAMALLAH, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki stated on Wednesday that Israelآ’s schemes at the Ibrahimi mosque are considered "a war crime." Al-Maliki said in press release a rule by an Israeli court allowing settlers to change landmarks of the mosque is "a consolidation of colonialism and an action intended to erase the historical and Palestinian identity." Al-Khalil (Hebron) mayor Tayseer Abu Sunaina announced Tuesday that the court refused a petition by the Hebron municipality to ban setting up an elevator at the mosque compound and granted jurisdictions in this respect to the Israeli supreme planning council, depriving the municipality of such authority.
Moreover, Al-Malki called on human rights organizations to take quick action and prevent execution of such plans by the Israeli occupation.(end) nq.mah
