BAGHDAD, April 28 (KUNA) -- Iraq's higher committee for national health and safety decided Tuesday to impose fines on people violating coronavirus restrictions, as well as extending curfew hours.
The committee said in a statement it would impose a fine of 10,000 Iraqi Dinars (USD eight) on every person failing to wear a mask outside his house.
People who do not have masks, it added, could cover their noses and mouths with a piece of cloth.
It said a car driver who carried more than three persons would be fine 50,000 dinars (USD 40).
The committee also decided to extend curfew by one hour to start from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
It said shops should allow one person per five square meters, and should not allow people who were not wearing masks to enter the shops.
Around 2,000 people are infected with the virus in Iraq and 81 people died of it. (end) ahh.bs
