ROME, March 29 (KUNA) -- Italy Sunday said 756 new deaths related to infection with coronavirus to surpass 10,000, with the number of registered infectees exceeding 97,000.
Civil Protection Chief Angelo Borrelli, in his daily statement, said 3,815 people tested positive with the virus in the past 24 hours to increase total infections to 73,880.
He said 3,906 people were in the intensive care units, while 27,386 others receiving medical care.
Borrelli said the pace of daily infections slowed although number of deaths reached 10,779, the world's highest.
He said 646 people recovered to bring total recoveries to 13,030. (end) mn.bs
