KUWAIT, March 24 (KUNA) -- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said Tuesday that the national flag carrier Kuwait Airways (KAC) and privately-owned Jazeera Airways will bring back the Kuwaiti nationals from Egypt, Lebanon and Bahrain aboard three flights tomorrow.
A KAC flight will head for Beirut at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday and another one for Cairo at 12:20 p.m..
Jazeera Airways will operate a flight for Manama at 5:45 p.m., the DGCA said in a statement.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah said earlier today a committee tasked with bringing back Kuwaitis decided the first phase of the plan of returning nationals would be between March 25 and 29.
The plan is based on health regulations from the World Health Organizations (WHO) and health authorities in Kuwait, indicated the minister.
The countries involved in the plan are the ones with extensive spread of the coronavirus, he added.
He revealed Kuwaiti patients and their caretakers abroad, people with special needs, those under 18 and over 65 years of age, and nationals in neighboring GCC countries will be the ones to be brought back in the first phase according with current developments and capacity of the health sector in the country.
Kuwaitis in Italy, Lebanon, Iran, and Spain will be included in the first phase of the plan, affirmed the foreign minister who urged citizens abroad to abide by health regulations of their respective host countries. (end) aam.gb
