DOHA, March 9 (KUNA) -- Qatar on Monday reported three more confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the Gulf country's total number of virus infections up to 18.
The Health Ministry's public health chief Mohammad bin Hamad Al Thani said at a news conference that the fresh cases are expats who had close contact with previously announced infections.
He added that the virus patients were quarantined and in good health.
Qatar on Monday suspended all public and private schools and universities nationwide as of Tuesday until further notice in order to contain the novel coronavirus.
Earlier On Sunday, Qatar announced it had temporarily banned the entry of travelers from 14 countries due to concerns over the novel coronavirus.
The ban covers Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Thailand. (Pick up previous) nnd.mt
