BAGHDAD, March 3 (KUNA) -- Iraq announced Tuesday five new coronavirus cases, raising to 31 the number of infectees in the country.
Two cases were registered in the governorate of Waset, and one in each of Baghdad, Karbala and Al-Najaf, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
People infected with COVID-19 were found in Baghdad, Al-Najaf, Sulaimaniya, Babel, Maisan, Waset and Karbala, most of them of citizens who returned from neighboring Iran.
The Iraqi government banned citizens from traveling to nine countries with high rate of coronavirus infectinos, including China and Iran, as well as closed schools and universities. (end) ahh.bs
