KUWAIT, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Touristic Enterprises Company (TEC) announced on Tuesday that Al-Khiran resort has been allocated to host suspected coronavirus cases who are under quarantine. The move came in response to the Ministry of Finance's demand on allocating the facility as a quarantine place, the company said in a statement.
"It is part of the precautionary measures and plans set by the state's bodies to counter the spread of the virus," it added.
The company apologized to visitors for closing the facility, it noted.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Health declared that a Kuwaiti woman has been infected with the novel coronavirus, COVID19.
She was amongst those who came from Iran and have been put under quarantine.
The number of the confirmed coronavirus cases has risen so far to nine, the ministry added in a statement.
All nine cases are stable and receiving required medical care at a hospital affiliated to the ministry, the statement noted.
