ANKARA, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- At least one person has been killed and seven others injured in an attack co-launched by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and People's Protection Units (YPG) in northern Turkey, Turkish defense ministry said on Tuesday.
The assault fell down in Afrin city where Turkey launched the so-called "Operation Olive Branch", the ministry added in a statement.
Those armed members targeted two schools and a mosque in central the city, using Grad missiles, it noted.
Turkey designated the YPG, affiliated to the PKK, as a "terrorist" group. The Turkish troops launched military intervention in Syria's Afrin in 2018 to drive the two groups, in addition to the so-called Islamic State, outside the Syrian city. (end) rs.hss.hm
