BERLIN, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- German authorities announced Wednesday the increase of coronavirus cases to four people, less than a day after the first case was discovered in the south state of Bavaria.
The Ministry of Health recorded three new cases and doubts have not been confirmed about a fifth case in the capital, Berlin.
The four confirmed cases were men working in one company at state of Bavaria, the statement said. The virus was transmitted to all of them from a Chinese employee working in the same company.
All the infectees are isolated in a hospital in Munich, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the German automobile group Volkswagen announced in a statement Wednesday that it had instructed 3,500 employees working in its Beijing branch to work for two weeks from homes for fear of coronavirus spread.
According to the statement, the company will stop all the flights of its employees between Germany and China.
The latest toll from the Chinese authorities indicates that 6,000 people were infected, as 133 people died so far. (end) anj.sam
