ADEN, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni national army troops, backed by the aircraft of the coalition supporting legitimacy in the country, have advanced in eastern Sanaa, Yemen's armed forces spokesman Brig Gen Abdo Majali said on Tuesday.
The troops regained control of a series of mountains in Nihm district in Sanaa after eliminating the Houthis militia, he added in a statement carried by Saba News Agency.
The air defense managed to shot down two drones belonging to the Houthi militias in the district and a third one at the outskirt of Marib governorate, he noted.
The Houthis militias have launched a rocket Monday night that targeted a mosque near the special forces' camp in Marib, leaving several people wounded, he said.
Escalation against mosques and the inhabited areas shows the Houthis' defeats in several fronts, he made clear.
The national army troops are fighting the Houthi militia along different fronts in the governorates of Sanaa, Al Jawf and Al Bayda', he stated. (end) sns.hm
