KUWAIT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- Hosts Kuwait thrashed Hong Kong 42-18 in the AHF Asian Handball Championship, winning their second game in a row at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Hall Complex on Friday.
The victory comes on the back of a 25-22 scoreline, which saw the hosts edging Iraq in the continental competition's opening fixture.
The result means Kuwait climb to second in Group D with four points separated at the top only by a one-goal margin to the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, the Iraqis were unfortunate to suffer their second close defeat at the hands of the Emiratis.
Waheed Al-Beloushi scored in the dying seconds to win the game, 20-19, in a tightly-contested affair.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Iran, Japan and Saudi Arabia. (end) fr.sd
