RIYADH, Dec 10 (KUAN) -- Bahrain's King Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa on Tuesday expressed pride over the long-standing relation with Saudi Arabia, which are based on a shared history and unity of destiny.
King Hamad's statement came upon arriving in Riyadh to take part in the 40th session of the GCC Supreme Council, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
"We affirm that the 40th Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Supreme Council's session constitutes important opportunity for consultation and exchange of views between Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC Supreme Council in matters that contributes to boosting our collective work and mutual cooperation to preserving the accomplishments of our States and culminate in the achievement of our peoples' aspirations for more prosperity and welfare, and continue the pivotal role of the GCC in consolidation of the security and stability of the region, boosting the efforts aimed to reach peaceful and comprehensive solutions to our problems and crises and overcoming the challenges facing it.
"As we express our appreciation and gratitude to our brother Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in serving our Gulf, Arab and Islamic issues, for the strategic role of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the regional and international arenas, we reiterate our confidence in the care and wisdom of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques which will make the outcomes of our summit up to the level of the challenges we are facing, and that this summit Allah willing will be an important new building block in the march of our blessed GCC Council to achieve the aspirations and hopes of our peoples".
