BAGHDAD, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Interior said it opened investigations into the attack launched by unknown gunmen on a protest rally at Al-Khillani Sq. in central Baghdad on Friday.
The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt following the attack, spokesman of the ministry Col. Khaled Al-Mehanna said in a press release.
Citing preliminary information, he put the death toll at four and the number of the wounded at 80.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Human Rights Commission warned that the security situation at Baghdad protest rally could get out of control, which would risk putting the lives of peaceful protesters in real jeopardy. (pickup previous) ahh.gb
