ANKARA, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said Friday that his country would expel the Libyan Ambassador in Athens in protest against a recent sea agreement between Libya and Turkey.
Speaking at a news conference, the minister said the Libyan ambassador had been summoned to the ministry to be informed of the decision and given only 72 hours to leave the country.
Dendias called the Turkey-Libyan accord a "blatant violation of international law".
The Turkish parliament had approved the Mediterranean sea demarcation agreement between Ankara and Libya.
Greece and Turkey are at odds over various decades-old issues ranging from mineral rights in the Aegean Sea to Cyprus. (end) rs.mt
