ANKARA, Dec 5 (KUNA) -- Istanbul city received more than 297,000 Kuwaiti tourists between January and October 2019, governor of the city Ali Yerlikaya said Thursday.
In this period, the number of foreign tourists visiting the city increased by 11.91 percent from the corresponding period last year to hit 12.6 million, Yerlikaya told Turkey's Anadolu Agency (AA).
On the nationalities of the visitors, he said the number of German tourists was the biggest amounting to 965,000, followed by the Iranians - 774,000, the Iraqis - 595,000, the Russians - 586,000 and the French - 436,000.
Last Friday, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism said the number of tourists topped 40.7 million. (end) rs.gb
