BEJING, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti inventors Sara Abu Arjeeb and Dr. Mishari Al-Mutairi were awarded the Golden Award at Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2019 on Saturday.
Engineer Abu Arjeeb received the Golden Award for her invention "detector of bone fractures", while Engineer Al-Mutairi received the same award for his invention "treatment of oil contaminated soil".
Kuwait's Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Bader Al-Awadhi expressed his pride in the fact that two Kuwaiti inventors were awarded the first places in the SIIF.
Al-Awadhi told KUNA that this win reflects the care and attention paid by Kuwait to the youth category, especially the creators and inventors, adding that Abu Arjeeb and Al-Mutairi were able to show the bright face of the Kuwaiti youth and raise the name of their country.
Al-Awadhi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Patent Office of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council for organizing this active participation of the inventors from the GCC countries at the Seoul International Fair.
For his part, Dr. Mishari Al-Mutairi told KUNA that this is the first time that two Kuwaiti inventors have been awarded the gold prize in such invention fairs, adding that this confirmed the talent and creative qualities enjoyed by Kuwaiti youth.
For her part, Abu Arjeeb presented the gold prize to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and expressed her pride for raising the name of Kuwait in the fair and in the field of inventions. (end)
