By Mahmoud Boushehri AMMAN, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is exploring the feasibility of plans for more economic cooperation with Jordan, its Public Authority for Industry (PAI) said on Tuesday, citing the Hashemite Kingdom's "alluring" business environment.
As he met with Jordanian ministers and officials in the capital Amman, PAI director general Abulkarim Taki highlighted the talks as a chance to look into the "promising" opportunities Jordan has to offer investors, given its strategic geographic location.
On his talks with the Jordanian officials, he sensed their eagerness to cater to the needs of Kuwaiti investors, saying such support should boost the Gulf country's investment in Amman, which currently amounts to USD 18 billion.
Trade exchange between Kuwait and Jordan has surpassed USD 170 million, while Jordan's exports to Kuwait stand at USD 144 million, with Kuwaiti imports from Jordan worth USD 27 million.
The Jordanian government has promised Kuwaiti entrepreneurs simplified and seamless business procedures in an effort to entice investors abroad. (end) mjb.nam
