BEIRUT, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait won two silver medals on Saturday on the second day of the West Asian Junior Athletics Championship currently being held in Lebanon.
Abdulaziz Manouh, head of the delegation to the tournament, told KUNA that Kuwait's medals have so far accumulated to one gold and three silver after this morning.
The first silver came by Hassan Al-Jadi, who set a record-breaking number in the Long Jump category with a 6.56m distance, and the second came by the Decathlon athlete Hadi Anwar with 5313 points, Manouh said while praising the spirit and achievements of the players.
Kuwait had already achieved a gold and silver at the start of the championship by Bader Suwaid in the 800m race, while his compatriot Saleh Al-Sadr grabbed the silver in the shot put.
The Kuwaiti national team is 13 players-strong, taking part in the championship with 10 other countries until next Sunday. (end) ayb.tb.aq
