WASHINGTON, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- Air travels have been experiencing major delays at international airports across the US Friday as a result of the Customs and Broder Protection (CBP) computer system break down.
The CBP tweeted that it is experiencing "a temporary outage with its processing systems at various air ports of entry." It affirmed that it is "taking immediate action to address the technology disruption." It noted that the CBP officers "continue to process international travelers using alternative procedures until systems are back online." "CBP officers are working to process travelers as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest levels of security," it stressed. This caused the officers to do their work manually as videos have shown the long lines being formed at airports as it comes at a time with August being a busy travel month.
There was no further information on what caused this outage. (end) si
