KUWAIT, July 12 (KUNA) -- Tennis fans have long-awaited to see tennis player legends both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer competing for the Grand Slam title at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, along with Novak Djokovic versus Roberto Bautista Agut on Friday.
In the upcoming match, Switzerland's Federer, ranked No.3 in the world, will compete against Spain's Nadal who led him out of nine French Open titles.
Nadal won 24 out of the 39 times the opponents played against each other and obtained three US Open titles.
Nadal won the Wimbledon title twice in 2008 and 2010, while Federer is an eight-time champion.
Ranked No. 2 in the world, Nadal reached the semi-finals after beating Portuguese Joao Sousa with 3 sets to none in the 16th round and beating American Sam Querrey in the quarter-finals with the same outcome.
Federer reached the semifinals after beating Italian Matteo Berrettini with three sets to none, then beating Japanese Kei Nishikori with the same results, breaking the record as the first player to win 100 Wimbledon matches.
Meanwhile, Serbian Djokovic ranked world No.1, will play against Bautista Agut, ranked No. 22, in the second round.
Djokovic became a semifinalist after beating Frenchman Ugo Humbert in the 16th round with three sets to none and beating Belgium's David Goffin in the quarter-finals with identical results.
Bautista Agut arrived in this round after beating Frenchman Benoit Paire in the 16th round with three sets to none and beating Argentinian Guido Pella in the quarter-finals with three sets to one. (end) kns.lr
