ISTANBUL, July 12 (KUNA) -- Four security guards were injured after an armed attack by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeastern Turkish province Sirnak.
Turkish security sources said the armed PKK group had attacked on Thursday a group of guards in Jizra, a city part of Sirnak Province, said Turkish news agency Anadolu.
The armed group attacked with the use of homemade bombs that were placed in an ally garbage container in the republic's district of Jizra, it added.
It pointed out that four security guards were hurt with minor wounds as a result of this attack and five cars were also hit during the bombing.
The medical teams and ambulances transferred the guards to Jizra government hospital and they are in good condition.
Turkey's Armed Forces launched a wide security operation in the middle of the area to capture the fleeing attackers.
The locations of the PKK's armed group were targeted by the armed forces as they were being tracked down in south and southeast of Turkey and northern Iraq.
This came in response to the terrorist attacks on several occasions by the separatist group inside the country on civilians and security members. (end) ta.aq
