MADRID, July 5 (KUNA) -- The Aqueduct of Segovia, dating back to the second century, is one of the most important cultural and touristic sites, which gained recognition from UNESCO as World Heritage Site in 1985.
In the past, the aqueduct used to transport water from the Guadarrama Mountains on a 16.5 kilometers journey.
The Aqueduct of Segovia is one of the well-preserved remnants of the Roman Empire in Spain and it was in use until the early twentieth century. (end) hnd.gta
