GENEVA, May 22 (KUNA) -- The FIFA World Cup 2022, scheduled in Qatar, will remain as originally planned with 32 teams and will not increase to 48, football's world governing body, FIFA, said on Wednesday.
This comes after both FIFA and Qatar discussed the feasability of increasing participating nations, the football body said in a press release.
"More time would be required and a decision could not be taken before the deadline of June," FIFA added after a detailed assessment carried out by both parties. (end) ta.sd
