BAGHDAD, May 21 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said on Tuesday that he would pay an official visit to Kuwait on Wednesday (tomorrow).
Replying to a question by KUNA during a news conference, the Iraqi Premier said he would discuss during the visit the latest developments in the region.
He noted that Kuwait and Iraq have a common desire to ease the ongoing tension in the region and avoid escalation.
"The Kuwaiti leadership has played a wise role in resolving differences," he said.
The visit also will include discussing several common files and memorandums of understanding for cooperation in various fields, Abdul-Mahdi said.
He stressed that Baghdad is eyeing the development of ties with Kuwait. (end) ahh.hm
