WASHINGTON, March 22 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump on Friday announced he would reverse new sanctions on North Korea one day after the Treasury Department sanctioned two China-based shipping companies for helping Pyongyang evade existing sanctions. The US Treasury announced that "large scale Sanctions would be added to those already existing sanctions on North Korea," Trump noted in a tweet.
"I have today ordered the withdrawal of those additional sanctions!" he affirmed. Commenting on Trump's statement, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, "President Trump likes Chairman Kim and he doesn't think these sanctions will be necessary." She was referring to North Korea leader Kim Jong-un. (end) rsr.gb
