BRUSSELS, March 19 (KUNA) -- The European Union (EU) Tuesday said it is for the United Kingdom to decide on the next steps that it intends to take on Brexit.
"We are now exactly ten days away from the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union," chief European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas told a news conference in Brussels today.
"We naturally follow all developments in the House of Commons very closely but it is not for us to comment or intervene in parliament procedures or parliamentary conventions of the UK," he said.
"It will be for the (UK) prime minister and Her Majesty's government to decide on the next steps and then to inform us accordingly and swiftly," said the spokesman.
He noted that the EU summit on Brexit will take place on Thursday in Brussels. (end) nk.mt
