LONDON, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- The British House of Commons voted Wednesday to renew confidence in Prime Minister Theresa May, giving her another chance to break the stalemate over Brexit.
The no confidence motion was voted down by 325 MPs, including the rebel Tory MPs who voted against the Brexit deal with the European Union yesterday and 10 members of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP).
Only 306 MPs, mainly from the Labour and the Scottish National Party (SNP), voted for the motion tabled by the Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn soon after May's draft deal was defeated by 432, including some Tories, to 202.
Despite her victory today, May could face similar attempts to oust her government in the future since the constitutional procedures in the country set no limits to no confidence motions. (end) mrn.gb
