WASHINGTON, Nov 16 (KUNA) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo voiced Friday appreciation for North Korea and Sweden for the release of an American citizen from North Korea.
In a statement, Pompeo said "the United States appreciates the cooperation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the embassy of Sweden in facilitating the release of an American citizen." He added that the US is "grateful for the sustained support of Sweden, our protecting power in North Korea, for its advocacy on behalf of American citizens.
"The safety and well-being of Americans remains one of the highest priorities of the Trump Administration," he stressed.
