WASHINGTON, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- At least eight people have died in weather-related traffic crashes due to a strong storm that hit the eastern half of the US on Thursday, it was reported Friday.
According to reports, the storm wreaked havoc on the East Coast, canceling more than 7,000 flights and knocking out power to more than 300,000 residents.
The National Weather Service indicated the early season winter storm is to bring "snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the Northeast with the addition of gusty wind and coastal flooding." It added that "heavy snow possible for parts of the Northern Plains... with low pressure along the Northeast Coast will move northeastward to the Northern Atlantic by Saturday evening." (end) rsr.ibi
