KHARTOUM, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- Sudan and Turkey on Tuesday signed a framework agreement on military cooperation between the two countries, including training, counter-terrorism and security.
Sudan's Army Chief of Staff Kamal Abdulmaarouf said after Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir met with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, who is currently visiting Khartoum, that President Al-Bashir has directed that cooperation with Turkey be a top priority.
"The visit of the Turkish Defense Minister comes within the framework of strategic cooperation between the two countries through mutual visits," Abdulmaarouf added.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Khartoum last December, during which the two countries signed a strategic partnership agreement, which included 21 accords to raise trade exchange to USD one billion annually. (end) mam.aa
