TUNIS, Oct 29 (KUNA) -- Tunisia Interior Ministry said Monday that the suicidal woman who blew herself up in the capital did not kill anyone but eight police officers were injured, some of them with serious wounds, including one civilian.
In a statement, the ministry said police has sealed off the area of her house in Al-Mahdia central west province, adding that all were transferred to nearby hospital.
The woman, 30 years old, died at the scene and was not known to be radical, it said.
The ministry noted that at 12:55 local time a woman wearing explosives blew herself up near a police patrol vehicle at Al-Habib Bourgiba street.
Local media reported panic and tension at the scene of the incident, and that some reported says the woman's name is Mona.
Earlier, witnesses cited by the Tunisian media said the woman set off the explosives in front of the municipal theatre. (Pickup previous) ksj.mb
